Early Yves Saint Laurent large bib necklace in dark variegated silvertone metal with coin form drops strung on a red cotton cord. 1970s. Marked SAINT LAURENT RIVE GAUCHE on attached metal tag. Very weighty and substantial and makes a fabulous statement. Designed in the North African tribal style which was Saint Laurent's lifelong inspiration. Wearable length is 20 inches. The center drops 2 1/4 inches. Excellent condition. The finish has lightened in a few places, not noticeable at a short distance. The variegation of the color, which is intentional, is less pronounced than it appears in the photos. Photos enlarged to show detail. Display form is life size.
